The first Beatles song to chart in the UK was Love Me Do in 1962, but it was the following year when their third single, From Me To You, would give them their first Number 1 hit. The four piece (comprising John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr) disbanded in 1970 but remain record holders as the act with the most Number 1 albums in Official Chart history. The Beatles were founded in Liverpool in 1960 and are now recognised as the most influential pop/rock act of all time.
